Breast reduction scars
Breast reduction scars
With a breast reduction there usually is a scar around the nipple and often a vertical one from the areola to the breast fold. Due to our advanced technology there will be no scars in the breast fold (the up side down T or the so-called anchor scar).
Initially after a breast reduction the scars will be red. About six months after the breast reduction the scars will begin to fade and become colourless. It is advisable to massage the scars with a moisturising cream for about two weeks after the operation.
In exceptional cases the scars might have to be corrected. This happens under local anaesthetic and has great results.
