About the size of breast implants and cup size increase
When considering a breast augmentation, you should inform yourselves well before taking a decision regarding the shape and volume of your breasts.
The look of your new breasts will be determined by both profile and volume of the breast implants.
Profile of your breast implants
Our plastic surgeon will choose a certain type of profile in order to create a certain amount of forward projection.
1) Low profile breast implants
Low profile implants are the flattest. A very natural and moderate breast augmentation will be achieved, with natural looking clevage.
2) Medium profile breast implants
One will obtain a natural, moderate breast augmentation with medium profile breast implants. Your clevage will only be moderate.
3) High profile breast implants
By high profile implants we can create more accentuated breasts, with a striking clevage.
4) Very high profile breast implants
By very high profile breast implants we will create very accentuated breasts, with showy clevage.

Volume breast implants: The desired Cup size or cup volume after a breast augmentation
Breast implants are sized according to their volume in cc (cubic centimeters).
You don’t know how to choose the exact size implant? Looking at pictures and talking to friends who had a breast augmentation might be helpful.
Off course the volume you will need depends on the shape and size of your actual breasts, your frame and the size you want to achieve.
Our plastic surgeon will inform you on how you can achieve your desired look. It might be a good idea to bring pictures with you of the desired outcome.

What cupe size will I need after my breast augmentation?
The measurements around under the bust gives you the bra size. If you measure 38 inches, then you have bra size 38. You should do measurement just under your breasts , when wearing a bra.
When determining your cup size you should take two measurements:
First you measure around your chest (underbust measurement), then measure around the breasts where they project the most (bust measurement). The difference between the bust measurement and the underbust measurement gives you the cupe size.
A difference of 5 inches results in an A cup. Every inch more of difference will give you a cup size more.
In principle the cup size is determined this way:
Cup size | Difference between underbust and bust measurement |
Cup size A | 5 inches |
Cup size B | 6 inches |
Cup size C | 7 inches |
Cup size D | 8 inches |
Cup size E | 9 inches |
Cup size F | 10 inches |
There is off course variation in cup size by the different manufacturers.
You should also be aware that a 32A is significantly smaller than a 38C.
Remember that there is no standardization of cup sizes and that you shouldn’t buy a bra without trying.
- European size 70 A = French size 85A
- French size 100 E = European size 85 E
