About a total tummy tuck

The mini belly lifting is less invasive than a full tummy tuck and leaves less scars. The incision with this type of abdominoplasty is hidden in the bikini line. The scar is made in the pubic area and not round the belly button. The scar may be reddish at first, but will fade in the next months after the surgery.

MINI BELLY LIFT: THE PROCEDURE
During a mini belly lift, the surgeon does not exceed the belly button.
Through a transverse incision in the lower abdominal area, the excess skin and the fat tissue under the skin are removed from the abdominal wall to the belly button.
The belly button won’t be changed or replaced with a mini belly lift. The detached layer which was pulled away when the excessive fat tissue was removed, is also re-attached and sutured.
The mini belly lift will take approximately one and a half to two hours and will be done under general anaesthesia. You can return home the same day.

FULL TUMMY TUCK : THE PROCEDURE
For this type of tummy tuck, an incision is made under the bikini line. The abdominal skin is loosened from the abdominal wall to the rib cage and the excess fatty tissue is removed. The surgeon tightens the abdominal muscles below the belly button and sutures. Also the belly button is released, moved and fixed.
A full tummy tuck is performed under general anaesthesia and will take approximately 2 to 3 hours.
