“Part of the cost of my breast reduction was reimbursed and my mum was able to relieve some of the burden, I can never thank her enough.”

“I live in Belgium and when I was 20, my bra size was 90F. I was seriously thinking about a breast reduction, even if I knew that the price was going to be expensive for my mum. My breasts were too big and heavy for my figure. On top of that, I often had back ache.

My mum was more afraid of the cost of the breast reduction than the operation itself. For me, it was the opposite… I was dying of fright. We helped each other. She reassured me about the anaesthetic and the operation because she had already been in hospital. And I reassured her about the cost of my breast reduction which was probably going to be reimbursed by the insurance. We sent my application in and my pain was deemed good cause for the operation.

The operation lasted 2-3 hours for both breasts and I didn’t experience much pain because I had been prescribed anti-inflammatories. The scars are very fine, there is no bump and they are in the least visible place possible. It’s a bit like an upside down T.

Part of the cost of my breast reduction was reimbursed and my mum was able to relieve some of the burden, I can never thank her enough.”

Breast Reduction Surgery

I came from Scottland. Helpful, informative and professional. Now extremely happy with the results and treatment.

“… if I had a breast reduction without thinking about the cost, it’s because my other breast was really much smaller.”

“When I was 28, I went from a D cup to a C up. It’s not much in itself, but I had a breast reduction without thinking about the cost because my other breast was really much smaller.”

I went to see a specialist who asked me what I wanted to do and why. I asked questions about the cost of my breast reduction. Then he examined me and explained the possibilities. My plastic surgeon removed 150g from the left breast and 30g from the right to balance out my breasts.

I was not reimbursed because the insurance deemed that it was a cosmetic problem more than a health problem but the price of my breast reduction seemed minimal to me in comparison to the embarrassment I felt on a daily basis.”
